Pixel Pancho (Italy)

Medan, Indonesia

Pixel Pancho is an Italian artist exploring robotics and machine like creatures as vehicles for the immortal dreams of men. His interest lies in nature reclaiming its place, over the modern world

For Splash and Burn Pixel Pancho was interested in the natural landscape of Indonesia and the bureaucracy which he believed prioritises capitalist interests over the lives of animals. In response to this idea, he created a series of steel welded orangutans. Their position is now one of resilience,  removal of the orangutans to more protected area should not be considered a solution; Pixels army reclaim the land to make an impervious stand.

I often feel that humans are the problem. Here humans are working hard to fix the problem.. but we always arrive too late!
